Our Local Partners
Pueblo a Pueblo operates on the belief that positive change occurs only through grassroots participation and partnership. We form two types of partnerships in the areas where we work: community partnerships and organizational partnerships.
Community Partnerships
We believe that the most sensible approach to improving health and education in a community is through a long-term, multi-faceted program which involves the women and children, the schools, the teachers and the community itself.
In addition to the five communities with which we currently work, Pueblo a Pueblo also partners with in-country nonprofits to broaden our impact.
Asociación Rxiin Tnamet
Asociación Rxiin Tnamet is a Guatemalan non-governmental organization that runs a medical clinic and outreach programs serving the indigenous community of Santiago Atitlán. The clinic emphasizes maternal and infant health. The goal of Rxiin Tnamet is to provide medical care, education and community outreach to the communities of Santiago Atitlán and San Juan in a manner that takes into account the Tz’utujil Maya culture. Their community outreach efforts include a network of 100 female volunteers who are educated by the clinic and work in the communities in which they live. Rxiin Tnamet is the implementing partner of PaP’s Maternal Infant Health Program and the health component of our Child Health and Education Program.

The Escuela Rural Mixta ChukMuk is the public primary school in ChukMuk, Santiago Atitlán. International Cooperation Agency for Development, Government of Andalucía, Spain (AECID)
Donations from the local government of Andalucia, Spain greatly contributed in building the new community of ChukMuk, which is populated by affected families from Panabaj village, buried by a mudslide during Hurricane Stan in 2005. AACID oversaw the construction of several thousand homes in addition to a local health post and a community center. Currently, the government of Andalucia is working closely with the municipality to establish and implement community services programming focused on education and health for local residents. Pueblo a Pueblo partners with Andalucia on our Library Program in ChukMuk.
