The chat focused on talking about “how family dynamics have an influence on students academic performance,” explained Johanny Quieju, the Primary Education Scholarship Project Manager.
“How many of you believe that parenting ends after the children are adults?”
“Who is responsible for raising your children? Is it only the parents? Or does it include every adult in the child’s life?”
“Does a loving parenting style result in children doing whatever they want?”
Johanny asked questions like these to the 27 women gathered on the basketball court of Panabaj Primary School. The discussion then shifted to the importance of leading by example and sharing tips on how to foster supportive relationships and encourage students to be confident and reach their full academic potential.
