Vilma Mendoza
General Director
Vilma Mendoza is a social worker who graduated from the Mariano Gálvez University in Sololá. She has been familiar with Pueblo a Pueblo's work since May 2011 when she began her internship at the university. Vilma has worked as an assistant in the maternal and child health project, as health program manager, and as office administrator. Since August 2022, she has been promoted to General Director because of her dedication and commitment to the communities.
Vilma is the seventh daughter of 9 siblings. She enjoys social field work, commerce and agriculture; her family are farmers and merchants. She also runs a local clothing store, where she sells traditional and casual clothing.
Rebeca Sosof
Health and Edutation Program Manager
Born in Santiago Atitlán, Rebeca began her relationship with Pueblo a Pueblo in 2015 as an assistant in the Maternal and Child Health project. Currently, she is the coordinator of our Health and Education programs, dedicating herself to planning, training and following up on the projects of each program. Rebeca views her work as a continuous learning process in which she believes she has gained valuable experiences. She strives to improve every day in the way she helps the community - and learn from those she helps.
In her free time, Rebeca dedicates herself to her young daughter and family.
Jhony Julaju
Sustainable Livelihoods Coordinator
Jhony is our Sustainable Livelihoods program coordinator. He was born in San Lucas Tolimán and has two young daughters. Since 2012, he started working with Pueblo a Pueblo as an educator for the school garden project. Now, he is in charge of coordinating the activities of the Beekeeping Youth Leadership Project.
Jhony enjoys working in the field, especially in agriculture and beekeeping. He has a small honey production business and runs a meliponario (traditional Mayan beehive for native bees) in San Lucas Tolimán with his business partner.
